Dr. Toohey was recognized for his innovative, student-centered leadership and commitment to expanding opportunities for every learner. His work includes the development of Edison Success Academy, a forward-thinking program providing personalized pathways, comprehensive supports, and meaningful opportunities for students to succeed.
This national recognition follows Dr. Toohey being named the 2026 New Jersey Special Education Administrator of the Year and reflects his continued commitment to advocacy, innovation, and student success.

We are pleased to inform you that the online meal application system, MySchoolApps, is now open for the 2026–2027 school year.
The MySchoolBucks platform also remains available for families to manage student meal accounts, add funds, and pay any outstanding meal balances.
To help ensure your child's meal benefits are in place before the first day of school on September 2, 2026, we encourage all families to complete their meal application as soon as possible.
Please note that meal benefit eligibility from the previous school year will expire unless a new application is submitted and approved by October 14, 2026.

Looking for ways to stay active, build skills, and have fun this summer? Edison Township Public Schools is excited to offer a variety of summer sports camps led by our outstanding coaches and staff.
Whether students are interested in developing their athletic abilities, learning new skills, or preparing for an upcoming season, our camps provide engaging opportunities for athletes of all experience levels.
Explore the camps below to learn more about dates, locations, registration information, and program details. We encourage families to register early, as space may be limited for some programs.
Due to the prolonged period of high temperatures and increasing humidity levels, which continue to build within our school facilities, all Edison Township Public Schools will operate on an early dismissal schedule on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Lunch will be served at all elementary schools. Dismissal is at 1:30 pm.
The Edison Recreation Department's afternoon A.B.C. Program will operate as scheduled.
Today, MLK had its Freeze Dance Celebration with Moby from BrainPOP! Students from every class attended the celebration and ended the day with delicious freeze pops! Huge shout-out to Mrs. Ronco for letting the school know about the contest and to all teachers who participated!

Pretzel Sale!!!!!
On Friday, May 1st, 2026, Martin Luther King School will hold a fundraiser to raise money for 5th Grade Projects. The MLK PTA will be selling Philadelphia-style soft pretzels for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.
The PTA is asking our MLK families to support this fundraiser by sending in exact change/cash only with those who would like to participate by Tuesday, April 28th, 2026. Please make sure you send in your order by the deadline. NO LATE ORDERS will be taken. Please send your money and form in an envelope labeled - MLK Pretzel Sale.
Pretzels will be distributed to students during the school day.

The MLK Color Run is coming on April 25th! This family event will start with carnival games and end with the color run. Come enjoy this fun event for the whole family! This year, the event is being held as an event for fun with no additional fundraising initiative.

This year, MLK will have its spring school pictures on Monday, April 20th. All students will have the opportunity to be photographed on this day. We can't wait to see everyone in their beautiful spring photo outfits!
Wear your favorite pajamas and join us for a fun filled night with MLK Teachers! Come enjoy a story and participate in a S.T.E.A.M. activity!

MLK will be participating in the
2027 Middlesex County REPLENISH
Spring Food Drive again this year.
Items received will be used to
replenish food banks throughout Middlesex County. Our school goal is to collect 1000 pounds of food. Donations will be collected from Monday, March 8th through Friday, March 19th Please help us reach this goal by sending in non-perishable food items. Students may place their donation in the green bins outside the nurse's office.
(NO GLASS CONTAINERS or expired foods please).
