I am writing to you today as a follow up from Ms. Paparsenos's email regarding the leadership transition at MLK. I have been welcomed warmly by our students, staff, and so many of you in the community, and I wanted to share a bit about my background for your information.
I come to you having spent 21 years in public education, and my career has encompassed a wide variety of roles, from mathematics teacher to superintendent and almost everything in between. I earned my law degree in 2010 from Rutgers School of Law-Newark and graduated from the AASA National Superintendents Certification Program in 2025. I have published articles on educational leadership and have also presented at a wide range of state and local conferences over the last decade.
In my personal life, I am married to an amazing woman (and scientist), and we have three kids who keep me happy, grounded, and busy. I love to travel, and I have also played music professionally around the world for over 30 years.
I invite you to join me on Monday, October 19, at 6:00 p.m. in the MLK Library for a Meet & Greet during the regularly scheduled PTA meeting. I am excited to get to know the MLK community!
Best,
Dan Ross
Interim Principal
